Urban Planners – Town and Country Doctors
Urban Planners are professionals who are involved in making long and short term decision about the management and development of our Cities, Towns, Villages and the Country side, with the aim to balance the conflicting demand of Housing, Industrial developments, Agriculture, Recreation, Transport, and Environment in order to allow appropriate development to take place.
Urban Planners are the Brain behind every successful economy of a Country, and a country that fails to recognize the role of Planners, is planning to fail. Remember your five P’s, (Proper Preparation Prevent Poor Performance), as we were thought in secondary school, just to prepare well for exam is not only applicable to our studies, but to every of our daily activities. Plan just your activities in a day and see a better result, imagine planning a whole year. That’s the power of planning.
Most of the challenges confronting developing and underdeveloped countries in the twentieth century was as a result of their deliberate effort to sideline those who have received education to champion the planning effort of their country, The Planners.
Urban and Regional Planning as a course is for Students, who are passionate about saving lives. Urban Planner are not Medical Doctors but we save live in thousands and million. We give the hope of sustainability to our people. We care for the present needs of the people without compromising the interest of their future needs, that’s one of the reasons we stand to be the best among other professions.
God created the World and created Urban Planners to protect, prevent and preserve it. Remember “Our ultimate joy is not in the current glories we receive now, but in what posterity will narrate us when we will not be there to explain”
